Composite fillings may be used when teeth are chipped, decayed, cracked, broken, or worn. They are also used to close space between two teeth. We can usually complete this procedure in one visit to our office.
Unlike metal amalgam fillings, white composite fillings bond directly with your tooth. This direct bond means that it provides significantly more protection for your tooth. Another advantage of a composite filling is that it won’t administer temperature as a metal filling would. Metal is a heat conductor, so silver fillings can cause your teeth to be sensitive to hot or cold. Sensitivity does not happen when you have white composite fillings.
Composite fillings are a practical and attractive way to fill cavities and other dental imperfections. If you think you may be a candidate for composite fillings, contact our office today!
